Aamer Anwar: Hypocritical EU Lectures Others on Human Rights While Ignoring Catalonia Repression!

Aamer Anwar – Lawyer of Catalan Exile Clara Ponsati who faces extradition, speaks on RT UK – ‘Going Underground’.

We speak to the lawyer for exiled Catalonian minister Clara Ponsati, Aamer Anwar, where he says the EU cannot point at other countries for human rights abuses while ignoring Spain’s repression of Catalonia.

He also discusses the likelihood of Catalonian independence, why the protests won’t stop, the history of Spanish repression of Catalonia and more!

In the programme Aamer condemned the disproportionate and unlawful use of police violence on peaceful protestors. 

He said the Spanish state stands accused of political persecution and vengeance and needs to stop acting like a Francoist regime. They have ignited fires which cannot be extinguished.

It is no longer a question of if, but when Catalonia will be free, there is no other solution. The people are out on the streets, and the Spanish cannot jail millions of Catalans.
