Call it a dream honeymoon, taking the lucky newlywed royals to the Pacific islands, under Californian sunshine and through wind-carved caves in the Middle East. 
It cost a cool $500,000, and the details were shrouded in secrecy.

Until now.

As Spain’s King Felipe and Queen Letizia laid low in the Fijian islands, their anonymity assured by their unimaginative pseudonyms of 'Mr and Mrs Smith', two sources were picking up the eye-watering bill, The Telegraph can reveal.

One was the Bank of Dad, with Felipe's father, the then king Juan Carlos, stumping up his share - unimaginable now after his son avowedly cut all monetary ties following The Telegraph's investigations into his myriad financial dealings....
